MY WEIGHT LOSS STORY

I started out watching what I was eating when I became insulin diabetic in November 2008. I thought I was doing a good job because my blood sugar was becoming under control but my weight wasn't changing. I was able to get off insulin by "following" a diabetic diet (sort of). I was eating the 3 meals plus 3 snacks a day, on time, every day, every where I went. The weight however was not changing.

After we came back from vacation June 2011 my husband and I decided to start going to Weight Watchers. I choose them because they actually work with you on how to change your eating habits, not just hand you premade meals that teach you nothing. I like the program because you don't count calories. Can you imagine --- 125 plus 170 plus 200 equals????? and how am I supposed to remember all those numbers. Weight Watchers has a "points plus" program that is much easier to track because it's easier to add up and easier to remember that 4 tortillas is 3 points, etc.

I started out with the lowest point plus of 29 June 2011. At first it was difficult because we all get used to "super sized" meals when in all actuality you should be eating a meal approximately the size of a banquet tv dinner - OMG!!! As you go along with the program, you learn what to eat to fill you up and feel satisfied. At first I really wasn't exercising but was still holding my own losing weight. I would not recommend doing it this way. However, I never went over my points and never used my activity points or weekly points. I think that's the only reason why I was still losing weight. Then the point system changed and my daily point allowance dropped to 26. And I thought 29 was hard to follow and feel full. That may be why I continued to lose weight - because now I'm eating less food. After hitting my plateau in February 2012, I decided that I need to really get serious about exercising on a regular basis. That is my goal now - to keep up exercising. Starting with walking and trying to work up to more.

I have learned a lot along my Weight Watcher's journey. Stay tuned for more of the story................to be continued on my WEIGHT LOSS under BLOG
